This is a dress. but also a duster coat and also a long apron.
To be worn outside the home, in the summer, as an overcoat, over a long skirt or even over trousers, as I do in these photos, to give a touch of originality to your outfit.
But it is very nice and comfortable even if worn indoors over clothes to receive guests.
It consists of a criss-cross bodice to which a long skirt is attached. It is closed by vintage cotton herringbone laces, the same ones once used for towels and aprons.
The sleeves are 3/4, ending mid forearm.
The fabric is vintage, it is a guinea canvas that I bought in a flea market, ancient but never used.Guinea is a rustic, raw cotton that was used to make sheets and washed in hot water with ash and lye eventually turned white over time. I like its original natural colour, which can be maintained by choosing a delicate wash cycle, at 40 degrees and using a mild soap. I adore its rustic and raw look, a little grumpy, which made me choose it for this garment.
You will see that you will love it too and you will use it on many occasions.
The fit is comfortable. size S/M.
